Lara Visconti has been a self-proclaimed artist since the first grade. Her constant doodling on that lined college rule paper became slowly evolved into her passion as an artist. Not knowing what to do from there, she turned to one of her favorite activities, browsing the internet. After much research, she decided on becoming a graphic designer and creating the website for May Pang’s AMIN.
Lara’s childhood, like most, consisted of constant cartoons, Sailor Moon being her favorite. Upon hearing that there is a comic book for Sailor Moon, she began to venture into the wonders of anime and manga. Being addicted to anime, she began to research the artists that created the songs. She began to listen to Japanese artists such as: T.M.Revolution, Gackt, and Crystal Kay. From there, her knowledge of Asian music expanded thanks to the wonderful friends she has. Lara has also attended several anime conventions where she has cosplayed as Rinoa from Final Fantasy VIII, a Mudkip from the Pokemon series, and CC from Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. In January 2009, Lara took a trip abroad to China where she learned more about China’s history and the culture. She plans on continuing and hopes to visit again in the future.
YouTube has become an outlet for Lara to share her love of art and music to the world. In 2008, Lara began uploading speed paintings of her works, mainly of Asian celebrities. She has accumulated over 455,000+ views on her videos and has 1,200+ subscribers. She feels very grateful for all the love and support she has received from her fans around the world.
Lara now studies Graphic Design at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She hopes that one day she’ll be designing and illustrating magazines, CDs, and more for Asian celebrities… Let’s hope that dream comes true!
