For my ‘Pick of the Week,  recently, I saw “Kites” and it was epic!  Better than the latest Bollywood movies. The actors were not only stunning, but performed brilliantly as well, there was logic and the script was original.

The movie stars Bollywood’s heartthrob, Hrithik Roshan who has starred in many Bollywood movies and leading lady, Barbara Mori, who is a well known Mexican model and actress.

Hrithik Roshan treads the crooked path in the by-lanes of Las Vegas. He has married umpteen girls for the coveted green card and Barbara Mori happens to be one of his abandoned wives. But sparks fly between the two when they meet again, this time under different — and dangerous — circumstances. The mercenary couple are all set to marry a rich brother-sister duo (Kangana and Nick Brown) for their money but they soon discover they are in love and flee the rich and powerful siblings who are hell bent on avenging their dishonour. Will love surmount all odds?

In my opinion, no matter what critics may have to say, this movie was completely beautiful and is now my all-time favorite. It gives you an understanding of love as an expression of emotion and not of language, but at the same time it goes beyond the traditional love story and gives you a realistic sense of what it means to be in love and what it is likely to cost you.

After warming up to Barbara Mori, Bollywood has asked her to star in more Bollywood films.“I will come back in January, if everything goes well. I have to go through the script first before taking a final decision,” Barbara said.

I personally think that Barbara Mori should star in more Bollywood films. She fits in perfectly and who knows? Maybe Barbara will open the eyes of other international actors and actress to take on Bollywood films.

There has been rumors that Twilight’s, Kristen Stewart, will star in a upcoming Bollywood film, Paani, starring Bollywood’s own, Hrithik Roshan.

Stewart was offered a role as Roshan’s co-star to play his wife in the film but her spokesperson has denied her association with the project, saying, “She is not set to star in this movie and she still needs to read the script at least.”

Only time will tell if the heartthrob Hrithik Roshan will star with the young Hollywood actress, Kristen Stewart and make another Bollywood meets Hollywood film.

Bollywood is becoming more popular than ever and spread around the world and now Armenia has become infatuated!

Armenian officials reportedly informed its Indian ambassador that Bollywood films are “very popular” in Armenia. Both nations are in talks to strengthen creative ties by promoting a cultural exchange between each other allowing more Bollywood films to be viewed in the Eastern European nation.

“Armenians love to see Bollywood films which are full of songs and dance. These films are very bright, well-designed and one comes out in a good mood after watching a Bollywood film. Not only Bollywood films but Indian culture as a whole is very popular in Armenia. We feel the need for more cultural exchange programs to boost the friendly relations between the countries,” says Ara Hakobyan, an Armenian government spokesman told reporters.

As part of the cultural exchange, Hakobyan also said top-shelf Armenian films would be shared with India.

Designers Shyamal & Bhumika brought their Bollywood fashion line to NYC last Thursday to showcase their cool collections. The designers who are used to dress Bollywood celebs are now spreading their collections from east to west.

Who is Bhumika and Shyamal Shodhan? The designers began working in fashion in 2000 Ahmedabad, India. Their label, Shyamal & Bhumika, was nominated for “Best Indian Wear” at the 2008 Marie Claire India Fashion Awards.

Now the fashion duo are ready to take over NYC runways!

Famous Chinese action star, Jackie Chan, has been offered a role in an upcoming Bollywood action film called “RA. One.” If Chan accepts the role, we would act along side Indian actor Shahrukh Khan. Actress, Kareena Kapoor, has also been casted for this movie as well.

Jackie Chan has already been sent the script along with a character synopsis. It has been revealed that the character Chan would play is a scientist who helps Shahrukh Khan fight bad guys.

This film is set to be filmed in Miami and to be made with a Hollywood crew. Anubhav Sinha (“Cash”) will direct the film, David Benullo (“Shadow Man”) will write the script, and Ueli Steiger (“The Maiden Heist and “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me”) will take care of the cinematography.

Jackie Chan is famous for his many action films. Chan is also a martial artist, filmmaker, comedian, producer, screenwriter, singer, and stunt performer. He is set to star this summer in the upcoming film “The Karate Kid,” a remake of the 1984 movie with the same title.

Shahrukh Khan is one of the most famous figures in Bollywood. Most of Khan’s films have become some of Bollywood’s biggest hits and has made it to the top Indian productions in the overseas markets making him one of the most successful actors of India.

India’s film director, Karan Johar releases another drama, ‘My Name Is Khan’ starring Shahrukh Khan. The movie tells the story of a Muslim man from Mumbai who suffers from a type of autism. He marries a single mother in San Francisco played by Kajol, a famous actress of Bollywood, but then becomes detained by U.S. authorities at L.A.X.

There has already been alot of buzz over the film as Shahrukh Khan himself got detained at a U.S. airport when he came over to promote his film.

Will this film be another SRK hit?
The film will be released on February 12th 2010.

Bollywood’s well known actor Akshay Kumar and star of the new Bollywood film “De Dana Dan” reveals his sporty side. The “De Dana Dan” star is to represent India for the 2010 Winter Olympics held in Vancouver, Canada. [hidepost]

Akshay is scheduled to receive the famous torch by Canadian Prime Minister Steven Harper on November 16th during a ceremony in Mumbai.
The games will start from January 30th to February 13th.

TV icon Oprah Winfery had a fabulous show today. [hidepost] She talked with the “Oprah of China” via satellite. Her name is Chen Luyu and she has 140 million viewers a day. While Oprah has only 42 million viewers a week. She has been on Chinese television for 7 years. Chen makes no bones about the fact she got the idea for her show after seeing Oprah on a business visit to America. She spoke beautiful English.

Her next guests were Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, the most famous couple in the world as they sit down for their first TV interview together! They are the most in-demand actors in Bollywood. They have 5 billion fans!

Her last guest has been called the Brad Pitt of polo. But if you ask Ignacio “Nacho” Figueras, he’d sooner liken himself to Tiger Woods as a superstar athlete at the top of his game. Vanity Fair readers voted Nacho one of the most handsome men in the world—second only to Twilight star Robert Pattinson this past June. Looking at Nacho, I don’t understand how he came in 2nd!

Mallika checked out her favorite label, BCBG, and thought the show was great.

The Canadian/Bollywood actress and former model, Lisa Ray, has been diagnosed with a rare type of cancer of the bone marrow, Multiple Myeloma. [hidepost]
Lisa Ray made her first movie debut in ‘Kasoor’ and has also appeared in quite a few well known Bollywood movies such as ‘Water’ and ‘Bollywood/Hollywood’.

The actress who goes back and forth from Canada to India for work started experiencing early symptoms such as fatigue and exhaustion.
After many blood tests and other procedures, she became diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma which is a rare and incurable type of cancer that affects a large number of people each year.

Lisa is not giving up hope and is determined to fight this battle.
