The Korean wave is still in full force out in Japan and continues with SECRET stepping in showing their stuff. Today the 4-member girl group held a special showcase at the Harajuku Laforet Museum. Hundreds of enthusiastic fans lined the staircase with colorful signs in hand ready to cheer.

SECRET opened up with their hit Korean single “Magic” and sang other songs such as, “Lalala,” “Empty with you.” Nishio Hidetaka of X-GUN also made an appearance and held a special talk with the girls. He asked which places they would like to visit to in Japan to which they responded Disneyland. They also enjoyed the large Japanese department Donki Hodei. Member Sunhwa wanted to find the right words to express her feelings to the fans so she even pulled out her Japanese text book to tell them all how wonderful everyone was.credit: SONY MUSIC

SECRET closed with the Japanese version of their hit song “Madonna” which is set to be released in Japan on August 3rd this year.

From what I have heard,  SECRET has come a long way. The girls got really emotional on stage. They talked about how happy they were to have performed today and that they will never forget the feeling. I wish them luck!

The winning bid of the city to host the 2018 Winter Olympics was awarded to South Korea’s Pyeongchang on Wednesday, July 6th. The city had lost the two past biddings for the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympic Games to Vancouver, Canada and to Sochi, Russia.  The people of Pyeongchang celebrated the winning victory with much excitement.

Pyeongchang was among two other cities, Munich, Germany and Annecy, France up for the Olympic vote.

This will be South Korea’s first time hosting the Winter Olympic games. The country’s capital Seoul hosted the Summer Olympics in 1988.

The slogan for Pyeongchang’s hosting of the winter games is “New Horizons.”

The announcement was made in Durban, South Africa with representatives from all three cities present to make their cases to the committee members.
