Rain Becomes America’s Biggest Tough Guy

jung-ji-hoon-pic-0001 The voters have spoken. Rain is officially a bad-ass in Asia… and America.
In a ceremony on Sunday night, thousands of fans voted online and named Rain the Biggest Bad-ass Star at MTV’s movie awards for his role in ‘Ninja Assassin.’ The win is being called an upset since the Korean heartthrob won the award over favorite Angelina Jolie and other nominees such as Channing Tatum (my personal pick), Chris Pine and Sam Worthington.
Though, most notably, Rain is the first Korean to win the award and only the fourth Asian since the movie awards were created. He said his participation in the show was meaningful and ‘shows how far he has come’ according to local media.
“I think I’ve been rewarded for hardships I had to endure and overcome while working on ‘Ninja Assassin’,” he told media.
Of course, he also admitted that he started working out a lot when he found out he was nominated. Guess he wanted to get back into ‘Raizo’ shape in time for the show.
In related news, Rain’s entertainment agency is trying to put an end to those rumors flying around that the cutie is dating equally bad-ass actress Jeon Ji-hyun (My Sassy Girl, Blood: The Last Vampire).
Local paparazzi caught Rain entering and leaving the I’Park apartment complex in Samsong-dong, Seoul several times, where Jeon is one of many (and I mean hundreds) of residents, and began leaking reports this week that the two were connected, some even going as far as to say the two had been dating for about a year.
His agency, J. Tune Entertainment says that Rain was visiting an acquaintance who also lives in the complex, and the two know each other from various TV productions but are not romantically involved. It even states that it is ‘regrettable’ that Rain’s privacy is not being treated with more respect and they are seeking legal steps.
So… are they really dating? Who knows…
