It turns out 2010 is having a rough start for Big Bang’s Leader Kwon Ji Yong aka G-Dragon.
In December, he showcased his Shine a Light Tour, where he performed songs from his solo album ‘Heartbreaker‘ as well as his solo songs from past Big Bang Albums.
Two of his songs that stood out performance wise were, ‘Breathe’ in which he along with female dancer Aimee Lee Lucas performed a ‘bed scene’ together with an addition of sexual moans during the the song. The other was ‘She’s Gone,’ a performance which showed the cynical part of
G-Dragon where he ends up ‘killing’ the girl in a Sweeney Todd based video played during the song.
Because of these two songs, major talk among Korean netizens ensued, saying how it was very unprofessional for someone who is an idol to show such things when there were underage people in the audience.
In regards to the controversies, YG Entertainment’s President and CEO Yang Hyun Suk took part in trying to resolve the issues. However, it wasn’t enough because now the police are getting involved.
In result to finishing investigations concerning G-Dragon’s concert, police stated that since the concert has had an effect on the teenage audience since the concert last
month, they might have to interview the producers as well as the performer.
If the authorities rule that G-Dragon’s actions during the concert were indeed inappropriate, it could result to imprisonment (less than one year) with a $5000 fine. If G-Dragon and YG Entertainment are also ruled in violating the Youth Protection Act, they may face a $20,000 fine and up to three years of imprisonment.
Stay tuned as we update the development on this story.
