Movie Review: Ninja Assassin

Posted by Lara Visconti On November - 29 - 20092 COMMENTS

ninjaassassinIf anyone doesn't know about this movie, they're crazy. With all the advertising, Ninja Assassin has been appearing everywhere! What would catch anyone's attention better than the title Ninja Assassin? Of course there's more to it than that. There's Korean pop sensation, Rain, who stars as the assassin Raizo. Also, Lee Joon, member of Rain's newest boyband MBLAQ, plays the younger Raizo. The action scenes are fantastic but with action scenes comes blood and there was tons of it. This movie was definitely rated R for a reason.

Raizo is a ninja on the run after he escapes from the Ozunu Clan who trained him from a young age to be an assassin. His sole mission is to finally take the Ozunu Clan down. Raizo meets Mika Coretti (played by Naomi Harris), a Europol agent, who is investigating the clan, after she is targeted to be killed. Together, Mike and Raizo cooperate to take down the Ozunu Clan.

The plot itself was fairly simple and expected but if you want to see action, this is the movie for you. Of course, who doesn't want to see a half naked Rain training in his apartment with pants that seem like they'll fall of any second? And like any good half naked ninja, he has been  thoroughly greased up for your enjoyment. Don't forget the massive blood baths Rain gets to drench himself in as well. For fangirls, this is definitely not a disappointment. It's a whole different side of Rain you've never seen before.

Big Bang Continues to Tease Us Even More

Posted by Lara Visconti On November - 13 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

20091113_taeyangwedding_mainOf course, what else is new? [hidepost] Known as the main vocalist/dancer of the boy band Big Bang, Tae Yang once again goes solo. Last year, he made all the girls feel hot over his mini album, HOT. He sang us an R&B song telling all the girls only to look at him and of course, no one was complaining. Now, Tae Yang is back with two songs, "Where U At" and his lead single from his upcoming solo album "Wedding Dress." The music video "Where U At" was released as a teaser for all of the fans out there. Only yesterday, Tae Yang teases us again with the music video for "Wedding Dress." Now we all have to live with the fact that his solo album won't come out until 2010. After seeing "Wedding Dress," I'm sure fans are full of anticipation for the album. These two songs reassure everyone that the album will be amazing. Then again, it is Tae Yang and we all know he cannot disappoint.

It's amazing how much Big Bang has done recently. They are now promoting their recently released single "声をきかせて (Let Me Hear Your Voice)" which is used for the Japanese drama おひとりさま eventbg(Ohitorisama/Single). Also, G-Dragon recently released his last music video for the track "소년이여 (A Boy)." Now that G-Dragon has stopped his solo album promotions, he has been hard at work preparing for his concert titled G-DRAGON 1st CONCERT Shine A Light. The concert's first performance is December 5th at Seoul Olympic Stadium. If you live in Korea, good luck. The concert sold out in 10 minutes. Once again, as long as it's from Big Bang, they cannot disappoint.

You know what's even more amazing? There's still more! Big Bang's rapper, TOP, has been pursuing many acting roles. Since October 14th, the spy thriller, "IRIS," has captured the eyes of many viewers. TOP takes the role of an assassin who becomes the enemy to a spy played by Lee Byung Hun who had a role in the 2009 summer movie "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra." TOP and Big Bang vocalist Seung Ri will be starring in the Korean suspense drama "19," in which three teenagers flee as they are accused of murder.

Congratulations and good luck to Big Bang in all your future activities!

F.T.Island is Raining on Tokyo

Posted by Jessica Dawson On November - 2 - 20091 COMMENT

091024_131141The 5 members of the Korean band F.T Island released a new single in Japan on October 21st called "Raining." This will be the band's 3rd Japanese single and to get things started they will be held special in-store events to promote the new single and yours truly was there to catch a glimpse of the action! [hidepost]

Over the week the boys have been promoting with fan meets and special lives all over Tokyo. I got to see these boys rock at the special live at the Apple Store in Ginza on Saturday. Over 200 fans showed up in this small space to cheer on armed with glow sticks and all.  F.T.Island sang 3 songs one which included Raining. HongKi wasn't with the boys in Japan so Jae Jin did a most of the singing and I must say he did a pretty good job. HongKi is currently filming the drama  Minami Shineyo (You're Beautiful) back in Korea. The group expressed their feelings about HongKi and how they miss him because hes been very busy filming. They said this will be the 1st and only live they will do without their lead singer.

After the band finished their performance there was a short Q&A. Fans asked several questions. One fan expressed her feelings about the new song Raining and how it made her cry. F.T.Island explained that the lyrics were very poetic and that they tried really hard to come up with a melody that complimented them and it really did pay off.

After the Q&A they gave away a signed copy of their new single to a lucky fan. And how was this fan chosen? Through a game of rock paper scissors.

Check out the photos from the event!
