Some of you may know me from a different time and place…. old school Rock’n’Roll. But my own kids — and their friends — are really getting into the new Asian pop culture – the fashion, Anime, graphics, films and, of course, the cutting edge music. The Pan Asian scene is a lot bigger than I had imagined. I started to listen to my daughter talk about the music with her friends. Ironically, her friends who are mostly non-Asian, were already tuned into this. One of my oldest friend, Joey Carbone (from Brooklyn), is considered one of the most popular songwriters in Japan today. I decided the time was right to utilize my Asian heritage and world wide contacts to bring this cultural movement to mainstream America… and create a place where anyone from anywhere can learn, share and embrace this new phenomenon… Welcome to May Pang’s Asian Media Internet News (AMIN).
